All the knives sold by the English Cutler are hand made from beginning to end, the blades are hand forged from EN45 spring steel, oil hardened and tempered, the handles are hand fitted and finished in bone, horn or rosewood and the scabbards are hand cut, stitched and dyed. These knives are authentically made the same way knives were made 700 years ago and all come with a sturdy leather scabbard; this old way of working means that just like the originals they will not be highly polished and may have some marks left by the maker, on the other hand they will look right, because they are right.

All the knives are based on historical patterns (except the bushcraft knives) and are acceptable to all the re-enactment groups.

The modern bushcraft knives are made in the same hand made way to the same values and are suited to field archers, woodsmen and other outdoor types.
